Add a twist to the classic custard slice! A luscious combination of Carte D’Or Custard and Carte D’Or Vanilla Instant Dessert in between thin, crispy pastry layers and drizzled with Carte D’Or Wild Berry Sauce, fresh blueberries, and a dusting of icing sugar.

Preparation

  1. Method:

    1. Follow the make up instructions for the custard as per the pack, but do not add the sugar (this is a thick custard). 
    2. Place the cooked custard into a container, cover with cling wrap so it does not form a skin, and cool down completely, best to refrigerate overnight. 
    3. Preheat oven 180º C. 
    4. Unroll pastry and cut into 8 equal squares, cut each pastry ½cm into diagonal corners, brush with water and pull over across to diagonal corners. Place on a greased baking tray. 
    5. Lightly brush with egg wash (optional), prick bottom inside pastry case with a fork and bake for 12 minutes or until golden. 
    6. Once the custard is completely cold, whisk in the Carte D’Or Vanilla Instant Dessert powder. 
    7. Place custard into a piping bag and pipe into each pastry case. 
  2. Garnish

    1. Drizzle with Carte D’Or Wild Berry Sauce, fresh blueberries and dusting of icing sugar. 
  3. Chefs tip:

    Try any of the other Carte D’Or instant desserts for an alternative custard flavour, chocolate, strawberry or butterscotch.
