There’s a restaurant in Mount Edgecombe, Durban, serving up craft food that diners can’t get elsewhere.

Co-owner of Franks Speakeasy, Paul Sheppard, says that to stand out, he’s got to offer his diners a unique experience. He also says that as home cooks become more au fait with cooking trends, they are becoming less impressed with the food offered at restaurants.

“The problem is that home cooks are becoming better and better and better,” said Paul. That’s why it’s so important to add an element of technical prowess to set food apart from what people are cooking at home.
